XYplorer: Portable File Manager for Windows

XYplorer is a file manager and Explorer replacement for Windows, aimed at users who want more control over navigation, search and file handling than the default File Explorer provides. It runs without installation, stores its settings in the application data folder and does not change the system or registry, so it can be carried on an external drive. The current release, version 28.40.0600, is a 64-bit build, and the 32-bit version 27.20.1600 remains available.

Data Format and Configuration

Catalog, configuration, custom buttons, custom columns, scripts and tags are stored as plain text files that can be read and edited by people or software. Upgrading is done by installing the new version over the current one, with the license and settings kept intact. Updates can also be checked from the Help menu. The interface is available in 30 languages, which can be selected with the Select Language command in the Help menu.

XYplorer supports 64-bit builds only, on Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista, XP and Windows Server 2003, 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022 and 2025.
